Cause of death confirmed for actor Chad Lowe’s 13-year-old daughter Fiona
The second oldest child of the Emmy-winning star and his wife died on Tuesday.

The cause of death for actor and director Chad Lowe’s 13-year-old daughter, Fiona, has been confirmed as suicide.
The second eldest child of Lowe and his wife, producer Kim Painter, was pronounced dead at a local hospital at 1.14am on Tuesday, September 29.
The coroner’s office has now confirmed the manner of death was suicide.

“We are deeply heartbroken by the loss of our beloved Fiona. She was a loving young girl who was smart, creative and loved to dance,” the couple said in a statement to Page Six.
“She was adored by her sisters and she was deeply loved by her parents. In fact, she was the light of our lives.
“Her passing is devastating for our entire family and we ask for prayers and privacy at this time.”
At the time, no cause of death had been confirmed, but speculation had circulated that self-harm may have been involved, with the parents using the statement to encourage anyone struggling with their mental health to seek support.
Tributes to a ‘beautiful soul’
Tributes have poured in for the young girl who has been described as “sweet” and “kind”.
Chad Lowe’s father shared an image of his granddaughter on Instagram on Thursday, alongside the caption “Rest in peace sweet Fiona”.
Actor and friend of the family David Boreanaz shared a touching tribute to Fiona, calling her a “beautiful soul”.
“May she be surrounded in light and dance in heaven with all the angels,” he wrote in a post to Instagram.
A source told People Fiona’s school and community were uniting to honour her memory.
“This is a devastating time for the community,” the source said.
“Fiona was sweet, quiet and kind. Dance was her biggest passion, she had a very artistic soul.
“She was always kind to other students. Many of her friends are out today grieving.”
Lowe, brother of Hollywood icon Rob Lowe, publicly celebrated Fiona’s 13th birthday in November last year, sharing a touching tribute.
“Celebrating Fiona officially becoming a teen today! Keep dancing through life, FiBear! Love you soooo much!” he wrote alongside a photo of his young daughter.
Since the news of her death broke, fans have flooded the post with heartfelt tributes.
