Dami Im blows fans away with perfect version of national anthem at Women’s State of Origin
X Factor Australia winner Dami Im has been lauded for her impressive performance ahead of the Women’s State of Origin battle on Thursday night.
With conditions far from perfect in Townsville, Im pulled off a stunning version of the national anthem which quickly sent fans into a spin.

The 35-year-old, who was born in South Korea, has since gone on to represent Australia in the Eurovision Song Contest.
On Thursday at the Country Bank Stadium she once again wowed fans.
Looking stunning in a white gown, Im was totally drenched while singing Advance Australia Fair.
Social media account ExponentialTechnology said: “Is there a better LIVE performer than the incredible Dami Im? That performance in torrential rain further highlights she’s unmatched when it comes to performing LIVE! Brilliant rendition!”
And popular NRL account League Unlimited said: “Anthem sung beautifully in the pouring rain by Dami Im.”
A fan wrote: “Fabulous rendition of the national anthem by Dami Im.”
Another said: “Dami Im killed it. Great job!.”
While NRL commentator Peter Psaltis said: “A resounding rendition of the national anthem by Dami Im.”
Im’s traditional version of the anthem comes after musician Dylan Wright caused a stir ahead of Game I in the men’s State of Origin.
Wright performed a stripped back rendition of Advance Australia which showcased his booming voice and acoustic guitar.
But the tempo was also a little different to the original version, and it immediately divided fans.
Some of the players also appeared to struggle to sing along because of the altered rhythm..
“A lot of people are giving Dylan Wright stick online saying he sort of turned the national anthem into a sort of hip, rock ‘n roll type thing,” radio host Tom Elliott said the day after the performance.
“You know, it is the anthem of our country ... Don’t fiddle with the national anthem.
“Let’s just say he decided to put his own stamp on (it) ... (and) I don’t like liberties being taken with the national anthem.”
