The stepdaughter of Sam Wood has broken cover for the first time since the fitness guru was arrested over the alleged assault and strangulation of his wife Snezana Wood while holidaying in Queensland on October 4.

Eve Markoski-Wood, the 21-year-old daughter of Ms Wood, 46, was spotted departing a Woolworths supermarket in Melbourne earlier this week with one of her three younger sisters.

It comes as Mr Wood lodged a Court of Appeal bid on Tuesday challenging the decision to keep him behind bars, accused of “choking, suffocation and strangulation in a domestic setting, and assault occasioning actual bodily harm”.

The former Bachelor star has indicated he will contest the charges but has not yet entered a plea.

On Friday, he was denied bail for the second time, and remains behind bars at Wolston Correctional Centre, a high-security prison outside of Brisbane.

Ms Markoski-Wood is a young fashion student who studies in New York, but had been holidaying in the Queensland coastal town of Noosa with her family when her stepfather allegedly assaulted her mother.

She is responsible for calling police to the scene on the night of Saturday, October 3.

At Mr Wood’s most recent bail hearing in the Brisbane Supreme Court, Justice Patrick McCafferty revealed fresh police allegations concerning the night of the incident.

“An argument commenced, not with (Ms Wood) but the other person who was a witness to the events,” Judge McCafferty said.

Mr Wood was said to have allegedly “consumed several drinks at dinner” before the argument over packing for the end of their holiday broke out.

With the former reality star denied bail twice, his legal team will argue no proper consideration was given to how long he could remain behind bars while awaiting trial.

He has now spent a month on remand.

Last week, barrister Paula Morreau KC argued Mr Wood “has the capacity for self-control and willingness to avoid confrontation”.

She said Mr Wood’s alleged actions, while serious, did not compare to other more violent and extreme domestic violence matters in which previous defendants had been released on bail.

The fitness personality has requested an urgent hearing before the Court of Appeal but no date has been set.
