Hugh Jackman flees fan frenzy with a dramatic exit in New York City
Hugh Jackman was spotted hailing a random car on a busy New York street in a surprising move to escape an overwhelming crowd of fans.
The 56-year-old Australian actor had just wrapped up a performance of his new show From New York, With Love at Radio City Music Hall when he found himself swarmed by dozens of eager supporters hoping for selfies and autographs.
In a rare departure from his usual friendly demeanour, Jackman gestured to an approaching vehicle and flagged it down like a cab.

When the man replied, “Sixth Avenue,” Jackman wasted no time. “Let’s go,” he said, jumping into the back seat.
The spontaneous exit comes just weeks after Jackman’s ex-wife, Deborra-Lee Furness, broke her silence in a powerful statement reflecting on their split after nearly three decades of marriage.
Furness, 68, described the separation as a “traumatic betrayal”.
“My heart and compassion goes out to everyone who has traversed the traumatic journey of betrayal,” she said. “It’s a profound wound that cuts deep.”
Despite the pain, she added that the experience brought personal growth and perspective.
“I believe in a higher power … always working for us,” she said, before reflecting on the lessons she’s taken from the end of the marriage: “Returning to yourself and living within your own integrity, values and boundaries is liberation and freedom.”
Furness concluded her statement with a poignant reflection: “None of this is personal.”
She officially filed for divorce in New York on May 23 after reaching a private agreement with Jackman, which reportedly includes generous spousal support.
The Wolverine star is now dating actress Sutton Foster.
