The contestant’s premature death came as a shock to friends and fans.
Former Miss Universe Jamaica contestant LaToya Malcolm has died aged 35.
The organisation confirmed the passing of Malcolm on July 18, with a cause of death not stated.
Malcolm was a finalist in the 2024 Miss Universe Jamaica pageant, and had enjoyed a career in the entertainment industry as an actor, model, TV host and dancer.

The year of 2024 was particularly kind to Malcolm, claiming the Miss Bikini Jamaica International crown.
At the time, she dedicated the win to her late father.
“My beloved father, Mr. Malcolm, this win was for you. Your one and only daughter continues to make you proud. I know you’re smiling down on me from heaven,” she wrote on social media.
Malcolm competed in the 2026 edition of the event in April.
Just two weeks prior to her death, the dancer appeared on Jamaican TV to teach presenters and viewers some of her moves.
Fans and friends of the beauty expressed their shock and sadness over her premature death, offering tributes to the “very vibrant and kind young lady” they knew.
