Logies 2026: Sam Pang, Chris Brown and TV stars reveal wild secrets from Sydney afterparty

The Logies might be TV’s night of nights, but once the Gold Logie has been handed out, the cameras stop rolling and the heels start coming off, another event begins entirely: the afterparty.

And because what happens after the ceremony is arguably just as interesting as what happens on stage, The Nightly opened its very own Logies confessional on the red carpet to extract the information everyone actually wants to know.

Who’s a cheap drunk? Who are you calling when things go pear-shaped at 2am? And, most importantly, who should we be watching when the dance floor opens?

First confession: Do not give Poh Ling Yeow too much champagne.

Asked who was the most dangerous person to sit beside at the Logies after a few drinks, MasterChef hosts Andy Allen and Sofia Levin barely needed time to think before dobbing in their co-host.

Apparently, it takes roughly half a glass of champagne before Poh is all giggles.

Naturally, The Nightly confronted her with the allegations. She immediately burst out laughing — which didn’t exactly help her case.

“They are always trying to get me drunk, and I don’t really drink. So Andy knows that one champage and I am done”. I am cheap drunk”.

Over at the Heartbreak High camp, there was similarly little hesitation before Brody Townsend was thrown under the bus, while the RFDS cast nominated co-star Emma Harvie, warning she “gets a bit venomous”.

Whether that makes her excellent or terrifying company at the afterparty remains to be seen.

Then came the important question: if the Logies afterparty gets wildly out of hand and you need rescuing at 2am, who gets the call?

Heartbreak High nominated Ayesha Madon, while the MasterChef crew decided Allen was the safest bet.

“Youll be awake, you are a new dad, youve got my back.”

Fair. Nothing says reliable designated crisis manager quite like already being awake at an ungodly hour.

And judging by the scenes outside The Star in the early hours of Monday morning, that 2am emergency contact might not have been such a hypothetical question after all.

Sam Pang was spotted making his exit alongside Dr Chris Brown, while Colin From Accounts stars Emma Harvie and Thomas Cockerel kept the party rolling until the early hours.

The pair eventually emerged looking ready for an Uber — or, in Harvie’s case, perhaps a ride carried out by Cockerel.

Sonia Kruger somehow emerged looking almost as fresh as she did at the beginning of the night, a Logies afterparty achievement worthy of its own trophy.

Better Homes and Gardens host Johanna Griggs, meanwhile, made perhaps the most sensible decision of the evening, ditching the red carpet heels for a pair of thongs. Glamour has its limits.

That tracked pretty closely with what our stars had predicted earlier in the evening. The general afterparty plan? A boogie, a kebab and heels off. In what order, we couldn’t be certain.

Outlander star David Berry confirmed the shoes were absolutely coming off, while the queens of Drag Race Down Under Vs The World had no intention of slowing things down.

Coco Jumbo even came prepared.

“I have packed my USB in case I can get the DJ to play a track for me and I might do a show for everyone.”

Co-star Vybe seconded the idea, “Maybe even a little Karaoke”.

But perhaps the wildest post-Logies plan belonged to the ceremony’s youngest-ever host, who won’t exactly be nursing a hangover on the couch.

“I get on a plane and I go to Cape York to catch crocodiles, probably safer than the after party”.

After seeing who was still standing in the early hours of Monday morning, he may have a point.
