Gómez helped create the multi-day Minecraft event “The Squid Craft Games”, a tournament inspired by the Netflix series.
Manager Byron Reyes confirmed his death in a heartfelt Instagram tribute.
“We’ll miss you, my friend,” a translation from Spanish read.
“From the bottom of my heart, I tell you that you’ll leave a huge void in everyone, and we’ll always come back.”
Reyes shared a carousel of four images of the pair together, as well as a video.
He addressed the amount of hate Gómez had received over the years.
“On the internet, we ALL think we have the right to point fingers or criticize others without even knowing them or how much those words can affect someone,” he wrote.
“I hope this sets a precedent for many before criticizing others.”
He urged everyone to be “more mindful” of what they posted online.
“Fly high, my Komanche,” he continued.
“Thank you for always carrying El Salvador with you, thank you for being a great son, friend, and human being.
“I will miss our conversations, but God willing, we will meet again someday.”
Five days before his death he shared a haunting post on X to his 2.3 million followers.
“The days just don’t get any better,” it read, when translated from Spanish to English.
The streamer had previously revealed diagnoses of depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, obsessive-compulsive disorder, and schizophrenia.
Infobae wrote that he had admitted to three suicide attempts, which he opened up about in an October 2023 YouTube video.
He told viewers in Spanish that “suicide and mental illness aren’t cringe-worthy, they’re serious”.
More recently, Gómez was accused of harassment by several female streamers.
