Piano Man singer Billy Joel has taken a nasty fall on stage during a concert in the US.

The 75-year-old music legend was singing It’s Still Rock And Roll To Me when he picked up the microphone stand and, in an entertaining move, threw it away.

But Joel then stumbled backwards and fell.

Fans at the Mohegan Sun resort in Connecticut can be heard gasping in footage of the moment, according to The Sun. Some said the singer looked frail during the performance.

Joel’s band rushed over to help him before the singer slowly got up and resumed his performance.

One fan said Joel showed resilience as he bounced back on stage.

Another review of the show said the star, known for putting his all into live performances, “isn’t showing many signs of slowing down”.

But others commented the singer looked frail and had seemed to be supporting himself using the microphone stand, according to The Sun.

Joel, who is currently on a tour of the US, cancelled a Florida concert in January, citing a medical procedure, before resuming the tour.

He is set to play a number of stadium shows throughout the year, with special guests including Stevie Nicks, Rod Stewart, and Sting.
