Thousands of fans flood box office for last Taylor Swift tickets
Hundreds of Swifties have made a last-minute dash to the box office in hopes of securing the final official tickets to the pop megastar’s Era’s Tour.
Ticketek and Frontier released limited tickets on Tuesday afternoon, including restricted viewing seats priced at $65.90.
Keen Melbourne fans queued at Ticketek’s Melbourne office from as early as 10am, with the line wrapping 350m around the corner to Chinatown on Little Bourke Street.

“It’s been crazy, we’ve been trying to get into the shade as we’re moving and sitting down getting water - someone even shared sunscreen with us, so that was good,” she said.
Often dubbed ‘the great war’, Swifties like Ms Beaton were optimistic Tuesday’s efforts would not be a repeat of the disappointment from last year’s ticket releases.
Diehard fans waiting their turn in the queue also took to their own devices - joining Ticketek’s virtual queue on multiple laptops and phones.
When the doors opened at 2pm, Brittany Mason and Madeleine Armstrong were among the first to secure tickets right after landing in Melbourne hours earlier.
Like Swift, Ms Mason made the trip from Las Vegas down to Melbourne, securing two tickets to her Friday night show at the MCG.
The 27-year-old has been a lifelong fan but missed out on seeing Swift during the North American leg of the tour.
“I just landed from Vegas literally to stand in line here,” she said.
“I’ve been a fan of hers for more than 12 years, and it’s always been a dream of mine to come to Australia, so we’re just super excited to finally see her.”
But by 2.54pm, tickets to all three of Swift’s Melbourne shows were officially exhausted.
Fans also had another shot for Sydney tickets, which went on sale at 4pm on Tuesday.
The highly anticipated concerts saw more than four million fans attempting to purchase tickets across her five Australian shows.
The Eras Tour will kick off with three Melbourne shows from Friday then four shows at Sydney’s Accor Stadium from February 23.
