No Doubt guitarist Tom Dumont has revealed he has been diagnosed with early onset Parkinson’s disease ahead of the band’s reunion show next month.

Dumont, 58, made the devastating admission to his fans in a candid video posted to social media.

“The other thing I wanted to talk about was my health. A number of years ago I was experiencing a number of symptoms,” he began the video.

“I went to my doctor, I went to a neurologist and I did a whole bunch of tests and I was diagnosed with early onset Parkinson’s disease.

“It’s been a struggle, it’s a struggle everyday and I will make another video with details about what Parkinson’s entails.”

Despite the battle with coming to terms with his diagnosis of the neurological disorder, Dumont remains positive that his symptoms have not affected his ability to play music.

Tom Dumont said he’s grateful to still be able to play music and is looking forward to reuniting with the band.

He assured fans of the iconic 90s ska band that he would still be playing alongside front woman Gwen Stefani bassist Tony Kanal and drummer Adrian Young for the band’s residency show in Las Vegas on May 6.

“The good news is, I can still play music I can still play guitar and I have been doing really well,” he continued.

The guitarist said others living with the disease, including Michael J Fox, inspired him to share his own health journey online.

“I have just been really inspired by so many people who have come out to talk about their health issues on social media and that sort of thing.

“I think it helps erase some of the stigma and hells raise awareness, and awareness is really important for prevention and research.

“So, that’s it. I am really excited about the shows. I can’t wait to see everyone and thank you for listening.”
