Olivia Dean slams Ticketmaster, Live Nation and AEG for ‘disgusting’ concert ticket prices

Olivia Dean has ripped into those behind ballooning ticket prices for her next tour.
The English pop-soul star said her team is looking into the issue in a statement slamming Ticketmaster, AEG Presents and Live Nation Entertainment on Saturday.
After selling out her recent Fleet Steps show in Australia and lighting up the ARIA Awards, Dean is set to kick off The Art Of Loving tour in 2026, tickets for which were released last week.

Fans who could not fork out the eye-watering sum for tickets to Dean’s now-sold out Boston show next month had to forgo their chance of seeing the star.
“Is this a glitch?” one fan attempting to buy tickets to the show said after waiting in a Ticketmaster queue with 10,512 people ahead of her.
Ticketmaster called the issue a “typo” in its responses to Olivia Dean fans freaking out over the unaffordable tickets.
“Thanks for catching this — this price was a typo. It has been fixed to the reflect the correct $53.45 all in price, and any refunds for the difference have already been issued,” Ticketmaster said on X
“Too late now,” one fan responded.
“What about the people who didn’t get the tickets because they were so expensive? I would have bought them if I knew it was a damn typo,” another said on X.
“At 10am I was 181,438 in line and then with 140,000 ahead of me it just jumped and let me in. The only seats were $753.45 balcony ... and now five minutes later no tickets,” another fan said on Reddit.
“Raise your hand if you f***ing hate Ticketmaster,” one affected netizen wrote on X.
This was before individual ticketholders began to resell their tickets on Ticketmaster, where prices are set by individual sellers, not the artist, or Ticketmaster.
But alarming resale prices prompted Dean’s spray at the platform.
She described the inaccessibility to her show as “vile” in a statement tagging Ticketmaster, AEG Presents and Live Nation Entertainment on Instagram.
“You are providing a disgusting service,” Dean said.
“The prices at which you’re allowing tickets to be resold is vile and completely against our wishes.
“Live music should be affordable and accessible and we need to find a new way of making that possible.
“BE BETTER.”
The star apologised to her fans and warned them to be aware of scams.
“I’m sorry that there appears to be an issue with the ticket re-selling and pricing. My team are currently looking into it.
“It is extremely frustrating as the last thing I want is for anyone to be scammed or overcharged for our show.
“Please be wary of buying tickets in the comments sections as it is most likely a scam.”
Ticketmaster said it will now apply a pricing cap on Olivia Dean ticket resales.
“We support artists’ ability to set the terms of how their tickets are sold and resold,” Ticketmaster said.
“We will cap resale prices on our site at face value and hope other resale sites will follow.”
