Taylor Swift thrilled fans as she stormed the stage on night one of her two shows in Munich on Saturday.

The singer, 34, once again pulled out all the stops with her numerous glittering costume changes and entourage of backing dancers for her wildly successful Eras Tour.

And while thousands of fans packed Olympia Stadium in Munich to see the pop megastar in action, thousands more die-hard Swifties managed to see the concert for free after swarming the hill adjacent to the outdoor stadium.

Taking to X, formerly Twitter, fans wrote of their disbelief of seeing so many people take to the hill to watch the show.

Alongside a picture of the huge crowd, they wrote: “The entire hill outside the stadium at tonight’s show of Taylor Swift’s ‘The Eras Tour’ in Munich, Germany filled with thousands of swifties!”

“Who needs a ticket when you have a hill?” another fan wrote.

The fan said that the hill near Olympia Stadium was the reason it was “the best concert venue, because: “The whole city chimes in from the hill.”

Fans who attended the show praised stadium workers and authorities for providing “food, water and porta potties for those outside”.

During the Evermore set of the concert, fans on the hill could be seen shining torches as Swift performed ‘Marjorie’ — a song dedicated to her late grandmother — and playing with glowing “orbs” like those used by Eras Tour dancers during the song ‘Willow’.

According to the dedicated Eras Tour page, Swift acknowledged the thousands of dedicated fans sitting on the hill outside the stadium.

“We are lucky enough to get to play this show for 74,000 beautiful people in this stadium and, if the reports are correct, 50,000 beautiful people outside the stadium!” the Lover singer said, the page wrote.

Swift performed two surprise songs during the marathon show, which followed fans speculating that she was secretly engaged to her boyfriend, Kansas City Chiefs star Travis Kelce.

The songstress sang a mash-up of ‘Ivy’ from her 2020 album Evermore and ‘Call It What You Want’ from Reputation, released in 2017.

She also played ‘Fresh Out Of The Slammer’ from her latest release The Tortured Poets Department and ‘You Are In Love’ from her 2014 smash-hit album, 1989.

Each night of the tour, Swift surprises fans with acoustic performances of songs that aren’t part of the Eras Tour setlist, with many sharing their predictions before the show starts.

It comes after the Cruel Summer singer played a ‘cryptic’ surprise song at the Eras Tour in Gelsenkirchen, Germany, on Friday night.

The third and final night in the city saw her perform a mash-up of ‘Stay, Stay, Stay’ and ‘Paper Rings’ on guitar.

Paper Rings from her 2019 Lover album features lyrics such as “I like shiny things, but I’d marry you with paper rings” and “darling, you’re the one I want”.

While it was written when she was in a relationship with her ex Joe Alwyn, fans are claiming that she chose to sing the song as she might be engaged to the 34-year-old NFL star.

Fans were convinced that if the songs weren’t indication that the pair were already “secretly engaged”, that Swift “just proposed to Travis Kelce on stage” with the tunes.

“I just made a comment on the live saying ‘weird way to propose but I think he will say yes Taylor,” one fan wrote.

“They are so engaged, right? I mean, it’s a done deal at this point,” another wrote.

Neither have confirmed an engagement.
