Nicole Kidman and Salma Hayek’s ‘awkward’ exchange at Paris Fashion Week sparks rumors

Hollywood stars Nicole Kidman and Salma Hayek have gone viral for an “awkward” exchange at Paris Fashion Week.

Kidman and Hayek attended Balenciaga’s Spring/ Summer 2025 fashion show on September 30.

The Aussie star is an ambassador for the brand while the Frida actress is married to the brand’s owner, François-Henri Pinault.

Kidman reportedly told Hayek, “don’t touch me,” according to a video of the moment that went viral on TikTok, shared by Serial News.

It appeared that Hayek then reached out to Kidman to point her in the right direction.

The Perfect Couple star appeared to push her hand away and gestured with what appeared to be a “stop” hand signal.

Kidman then kissed singer Katy Perry — who was standing beside them, before walking out of frame.

Viewers were quick to react online, with one commenter observing: “Oh that was a sassy moment”.

“God this is awkward to watch,” another said.

However others insisted: “Nothing happened, they are in conversation”.

“I think we’re overthinking this,” another said.

A source close to the actresses has since told People that “nothing happened”.

“They were being bombarded by cameras at the end of the show while in the middle of a conversation,” the insider said.

“People are looking at clips and making a story out of nothing.”

“The whole situation is silly. Salma and Nicole love and respect each other.”

Another clip shows the pair happy and smiling together and enjoying the night.

Hayek went on to share a video from the event including Kidman.

The Balenciaga event was the first time Kidman was seen in public since the death of her beloved mother Janelle Kidman.

She was later seen attending the Miu Miu show, watching her 16-year-old daughter Sunday Rose make her catwalk debut.
