Oscars 2026: Where to watch the 98th Academy Awards in Australia and everything you need to know

We are only a few days out from the 98th Academy Awards, so here’s everything you need to know about where and when you can tune in.

We are just days away from the most anticipated awards nights of the year, the 98th Oscars, and it’s gearing up to be a big one.

This year we have a number of Aussies in the running for awards including Rose Byrne and Jacob Elordi, with both earning their first ever Oscar nominations.

Byrne is up for Best Actress in a Leading Role (If I Had Legs I’d Kick You), while Elordi is nominated for Best Actor in a Supporting Role (Frankenstein).

They are joined by a third Australian contender, Nick Cave, who scored a nomination for Best Original Song (Train Dreams).

Emmy Award-winner Conan O’Brien will be hosting the awards, alongside a star-studded line-up of presenters including Adrien Brody, Robert Downey Jr., Anne Hathaway, and Gwyneth Paltrow.

The event will take place on at the Dolby Theatre at Ovation Hollywood, where’s it’s been since 2001.

When and where can I watch the Oscars in Australia?

For early risers, Sunrise will have full coverage of the awards night from 5.30am AEDT on Monday March 16, with Seven’s US correspondent Mylee Hogan reporting live from the Dolby Theatre.

The Oscars Red Carpet Live Show will kick off at 9.30am AEDT on Seven and streaming live nationally on 7plus.

The awards ceremony will begin at 10am AEDT, with an encore screening at 9pm.
