Angelina Jolie is ready for a new chapter, and is set to turn away from her Hollywood life.

The Oscar-winning actress has reportedly been waiting for her youngest children, 17-year-old twins Vivienne and Knox to turn 18 before making a long-considered move overseas.

The siblings are set to reach the milestone in July, potentially freeing Jolie from the custody arrangements that have kept her based in Los Angeles following her split from former husband Brad Pitt in 2016.

Sources previously told US media outlets that Jolie “never wanted to live in LA full time” but remained in Hollywood for her family.

However, insiders claim she is exploring several locations abroad and is expected to divide her time internationally once she makes the shift abroad.

Jolie has been open about her desire to raise her children with privacy and distance from the intense spotlight of Hollywood.

In a 2024 interview with The Hollywood Reporter, she said having a large family meant prioritising “peace and safety,” adding that while she has a home in LA, she does not always feel aligned with what the city represents.

The 50-year-old’s global ties run deep within her family roots, with Cambodia potentially being an option for the mother-of-six after she adopted her eldest son Maddox from the country, a decision she labelled “transformative”.

She later told Vogue India that Cambodia changed her life, opening her eyes to refugee issues and leading her to work closely with the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees.

“Above all, it made me a mum”, she spoke of the experience.

Jolie went onto adopt her other children, Zahra and Pax during her relationship with Pitt who later legally adopted all three children.

The former couple share six children together with Knox and Vivienne being their biological children, youngest and last to leave the nest.

The actress has been increasingly vocal about her views on the US and it’s leadership.

Whilst appearing at the San Sebastian Film Festival last year, she spoke about her love for her country but admitted she does not always recognise it — in it’s current state.

Jolie has previously criticised President Donald Trump over his administration’s immigration policy.
