How do you relieve yourself as a time-poor Hollywood heavyweight? Take a leaf from Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson’s acting 101 book.

Earlier this year, online publication The Wrap published a story alleging the actor was regularly late to the set of action/comedy Red One, frustrating the cast and crew, and inflating the cost of the $250 million production by $50 million.

It also mentioned how the 52-year-old pro wrestler would pee in bottles to save time during his busy filming schedule.

“Yeah. That happens,” he told GQ in a feature that hashed out the claims.

Johnson also admitted his lateness was true but added the controversy overall was “bullsh*t”.

“Yeah, that happens too,” Johnson said. “But not that amount, by the way. That was a bananas amount. That’s crazy. Ridiculous,” he told GQ.

Film director Jake Kasdan said Johnson “never missed a day of work ever”.

“He has a lot going on. He can be late sometimes, but such is Hollywood — that’s the case with everybody. Honestly, I’ve made three big movies with him. I’ve never seen him be anything but great to every single person on the set.”

Co-star Chris Evans said while Johnson was indeed late, his team knew when he would be showing up.

“It’s not like he’s late unexpectedly, and I wouldn’t even call it late. He comes in slightly later on certain mornings, but it’s part of the plan. It’s worked into the schedules and everyone knows it, so he shows up when he’s scheduled to show up,” Evans told GQ.

“In terms of the guy that I saw, compared to some of the things I’ve seen in other movies with other actors who are not only not conscious of other people’s time and efforts, but they’re unpredictable? I found Dwayne to be — we all know exactly what he’s going to do when he’s going to do it.”

Red One is in cinemas now.

Johnson will also reprise his role in Disney’s Moana 2 out on November 28.
