Hugh Jackman and Sutton Foster step out hand-in-hand for a dinner date in Los Angeles.

Just weeks after sources claimed Hugh Jackman, 56, and his ex-wife Deborra-Lee Furness, 69, were trying to patch up their relationship, their split has taken a messy turn.

The high-profile pair shocked the world in 2022 when they announced they were parting ways after 27 years of marriage.

In January, the estranged couple were reportedly just weeks away from filing for divorce, but months later no progress has been made.

Sources told DailyMail.com the delay in the divorce filing is due to a disagreement over money.

“Hugh and Deborra-Lee have not yet filed for divorce because they are struggling to reach an agreement on how to divide their assets,’ a source told the media outlet.

“Deborra-Lee feels entitled to more money than Hugh is willing to offer.”

It’s believed Furness feels she deserves more after Jackman started dating his Broadway co-star Sutton Foster shortly after the split, sparking affair rumours.

The source added: “While he didn’t physically cheat on her with Sutton, Deborra-Lee believes they were having an emotional affair and she feels he betrayed her.”

“She is using the fact that Hugh is still married and involved with another woman against him.”

The twist comes just one week after the pair were planning to reunite in New York to work through issues so they can amicably co-parent their children — Ava and Oscar.

A “well-placed source” said that the former couple have “very little interest in waging a public war against each other” and have family events coming up that they both want to attend.

“It’s going to be much more fun and easier if they’re all getting along,” the source added.
