AFL: Lachie Neale trains on the MCG ahead of the grand final.

A new twist has developed just days after Jules Neale revealed she had been ‘betrayed in the most unimaginable way’.

The wife of two-time Brownlow medallist and premiership player Lachie Neale took to her Instagram story on Friday with a statement after rumours began circulating that she was “working through” marriage issues.

“I want to make it clear that I am not ‘working through’ anything,” Jules’ statement said.

“I have been betrayed in the most unimaginable way.

“All I can do now is to heal and do what’s best for my children.

“Thank you for all the love and support. Jules x.”

In a new twist, it has been revealed the Perth-born WAG called out a close female friend in a now-deleted comment on Instagram.

“Take these (pictures) down...,” Jules’ commented on a close friend’s Instagram post.

Jules has scrubbed her Instagram of Lachie and has unfollowed his account, although Lachie is still following his wife and she still appears on his account.

The pair, who married in a romantic riverside wedding in Perth in 2018, share two children: Piper, aged four, and Freddie, who celebrated his first birthday last week.

Jules posted photos of Freddie’s first birthday on December 16, just days before she put out the statement about her marriage on her story.

“This little man, and his beautiful big sister have taught me what real love, courage, and joy look like,” Jules captioned the post.

“You’re the sweetest soul Freddie bear, thank you for choosing me, for holding me up without even knowing it.

“I’m so lucky to be your mumma and I love you beyond words.”

Lachie was notably absent from the post.

The pair have lived in Brisbane since Lachie was traded from the Fremantle Dockers to the Lions in 2018.

In his acceptance speech for his first Brownlow Medal in 2020, Lachie revealed the sacrifices Jules had made once he had been traded from one side of the country to the other.

“Not many people probably know but she owned a salon in Perth before we decided to move to Brisbane, she had to sell that to come over here and follow my dreams,” Lachie said.

“She was doing very well for herself over there but she always puts me ahead of herself when she shouldn’t have to.

“She’s the most selfless person I know and my biggest support.”
