Powderfinger fans elated after Aussie rock group confirms reunion and first Australian tour in 16 years
Powderfinger fans have been left elated on Friday morning after the Aussie rockers confirmed they’re hitting the stage for the first time in 16 years.

Beloved Aussie rock group Powderfinger has this morning delighted long-time fans and announced it will be reforming and setting off on an Australian tour, 16 years after breaking up.
The group addressed fans in a video Friday morning, with frontman Bernard Fanning revealing their plan to “do some shows all around Australia from September next year”.
Lead guitarist Darren Middleton added they were “going to build something pretty special” just for the fans.

It was also posted to Instagram account The Return of the Electric Horsemen, a song name on their 1996 album Double Allergic.
Further confirmation came when on Thursday as the official Powderfinger account posted the same photo, while the Horsemen account published a photo of the image projected onto the Sydney Harbour Bridge.
In that caption, the account wrote “Red means run, son. Numbers add up to…. Nothing? or Something…”
The social media account follows no one, but the official Powderfinger account does follow it.
The band - made up of Fanning, Middleton, Ian Haug, Jon Coghill and John Collins - formed in 1989 and broke up in 2010.
