Kyle Sandilands has been sacked from KIIS FM parent company ARN just hours after he said he wants to continue hosting his breakfast show for his listeners who want him back.

The shock jock terminated his $100 million contract on Tuesday after ARN deemed his behaviour towards co-host Jackie O Henderson on February 20 as inappropriate.

ARN suspended the controversial host on March 3 and said he had 14 days to remedy the breach, but his time on the airwaves is now up.

The sacking comes hours after Sandilands appeared outside his Sydney home on Tuesday where he told media he expected ARN to honour his contract.

“At the end of the day, I’ve got a contract with ARN and I expect them to honour that,” Sandilands said on Tuesday.

“I do have some options if they don’t.”

When asked about whether he would look into buying out the media company, which has a market cap of about $106 million, Sandilands smiled and said he had “many options”.

“I still want to do the show, the listeners want me back on doing the show,” he said.

The friction between the breakfast hosts stemmed from Sandilands berating Henderson during a live broadcast, where he criticised her after she looked into Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor’s horoscope.

“You’re off with the fairies ... every segment, every time you’ve spoken, you don’t even know what’s going on,” Sandilands said.

“You’re not doing the rest of the job and everyone in this building has mentioned it to me.”

Henderson took some time off work following the on-air beef before ARN announced it had ended her contract after she told the network she “cannot continue to work with Kyle Sandilands”.

However, Henderson is now reportedly threatening legal action against ARN for wrongful termination and misleading the public, after she released a statement that said she did not quit or resign from the show.

“I am deeply saddened by the events of the past week and the possibility of the show ending. This has come as a shock to me, as it has to everyone else,” she said.

“It has been truly heartbreaking to see how this has unfolded. At this stage, I am unable to say anything further, as I am addressing this through the appropriate legal channels.”

The Sydney duo are in the second year of a decade-long, $200 million contract which coincided with a poorly received entry into the Melbourne radio market.
