“The [brain] aneurysm is at a Y junction and it is at the top. The shape of it has limited the operation they can do. The only option to get to it is to [open the skull],’ he told co-host, Jackie ‘O’ Henderson.

“That will mean I have this huge scar from the forehead to top of ear and they would have to drill a hole in my skull, go into the brain and clip it off.”

Sandilands then updated listeners about the aneurysm in his chest.

“They found another one in my chest and that’s a separate surgery and I have very bad calcium buildup in the heart where I’m likely to have a heart attack.”

On Monday, Sandilands told listeners he would initially undergo brain surgery after doctors found an aneurysm.

“On Friday, I was told by my medical team, which sounds like I’m already very sick - to have a medical team - that I have a brain aneurysm and it requires immediate attention, brain surgery,” Sandilands told listeners on Monday morning.

“If you just tuned in to us after all these years, lap it up. And if you’re in Melbourne ... you’re coming to the party too late. You may get your wish. I may be dead.”

He told listeners he was diagnosed with the aneurysm following a period of significant headaches.

“If that bursts, I die instantly.”

Sandilands expects to take eight weeks off from his hit show, The Kyle and Jackie O Show.

“My wife, every time I look at her, her eyes well up with tears. She is already counting down the days.”

“The facts are a life of cocaine abuse and partying are not the way to go,” he said.

Sandilands has been a team alongside Jackie “O” Henderson for the past 20 years.

He is also a judge on Australian Idol, on Seven.
