‘Scared this day might come’: Kyle Sandilands Live show pulled off air over tech issues, DAYS after launching

Kyle Sandilands’ first week back on the airwaves has come to an abrupt end after producers had to pull the show off air on Friday morning.

As reported by Nine News, a video shared with fans in the broadcaster app showed newsreader Brooklyn Ross and executive producer Jaimee Blazquez explaining that tech issues had taken down Kyle Sandilands Live, with the former KIIS FM radio host himself notably absent in the video update.

“We were scared this day might come,” Mr Ross began, adding his colleague was “very stressed right now”.

“We’re so sorry that the tech has failed us today because the show that we had planned would have been incredible,” Ms Blazquez continued.

“We’ve tried a few times, and I think we’re just going to upset you more if we keep coming back and then disappearing again. So we’ve decided today to not take the show to air.”

The team explained that they would spend the weekend “getting everything sorted” before returning to regularly scheduled shows next week.

“Monday we’ll be back with new equipment, because we’ve ordered everything, and hopefully we don’t have these issues again,” Ms Blazquez added.

The show has been plagued with tech problems since it launched earlier this week on Monday, with Sandilands admitting to listeners who had paid a $99 subscription fee: “We’re off to a clunky start”.

On Tuesday the team shared they were “hopeful today is better” following the rocky launch.

Sandilands’ subscription-based show started following the high-profile demise of KIIS FM’s The Kyle and Jackie O Show and his settlement with former employer ARN.
