Shane Warne’s daughter Summer claims patron poured water over her for dancing at Ed Sheeran concert

Summer Warne has spoken out in a lengthy video after an incident at Ed Sheeran’s Melbourne concert left her “seeing red”.

Summer, the youngest child of late cricket legend Shane Warne, posted a TikTok claiming a fellow concertgoer poured water down her back during the show at Marvel Stadium in Melbourne.

She began the video by explaining emotions were already running high ahead of the show, as her late father was a close friend and longtime fan of Sheeran, who is currently touring Australia with his Loop Tour.

Sheeran’s hit song Photograph was played at her father’s private funeral and the British singer also performed at his memorial at the Melbourne Cricket Ground.

“Ed was very good friends with my dad, and they had a very beautiful friendship and obviously his concerts are very bittersweet,” she said.

The 24-year-old attended Thursday night’s show with her sister Brooke, brother Jackson and friends.

Their group had tickets in the seated area but stood up to dance, with Summer claiming tensions began when a woman aggressively told her and a friend to sit down.

“I wasn’t aware of the rule you aren’t allowed to stand up and sing and dance at a concert,’’ she said.

Summer went on to claim the situation escalated about an hour later, when she suddenly felt water being poured over her clothes by another woman nearby, who she said laughed and suggested it was accidental.

“At this point, I’m seeing red,” she said.

“She’s denying it and then I lose it. Never in my life have I gone off at someone like this.

“I said, ‘What possesses you to pour water down my undies and down my jeans for standing up and dancing at a concert?’’”

Warne said her sister Brooke initially urged her to walk away but claimed the confrontation intensified when the woman continued to provoke her.

The video has since attracted more than 400 comments, drawing a mixed reaction from viewers.

Some argued Summer had done nothing wrong, noting Sheeran often encourages audiences to stand, sing and dance during his shows.

“I don’t pay for concerts to sit down,” one person commented.

Others argued seated sections can pose challenges for fans who are unable to stand for extended periods.

“Believe me, I’m an old rocker from way back and would never want to spoil anyone’s fun at a concert but sometimes it pays to think about why someone cannot/will not stand up,” a TikToker replied.

Summer later clarified that on Thursday they had opted to sit in the general admission area before watching Saturday’s show from a private booth.

Frontier Touring states on its website: “Dancing and singing are normal and reasonable behaviour at the concerts, subject to certain rules.”

Those rules include no standing on seats or in aisles, no jumping from seats, no sitting on the shoulders of other patrons and no crowd surfing. Moshing and slam dancing are also prohibited, along with the use of offensive language and any anti-social behaviour.
