Supergirl Milly Alcock makes donation to Petersham Bowling Club’s GoFundMe for accessibility ramp
As Milly Alcock is about to make her debut as a beloved comic book character, her ‘favourite place in the world’ has received a mega donation.
Australian actress Milly Alcock has made a huge donation to her local bowling club.
The Inner West Sydney bowling club is currently fundraising to improve accessibility.
In a video published to the venue’s social media channels, Petersham Bowing Club president George Catsi said he wanted to “acknowledge one really substantial donation” received.

She will play Kara Zor-El in Supergirl, a film based off the television series of the same name, which is set for release later this month.
Mr Catsi said the actress grew up down the road from the venue.
“She’s a local girl who, this is her home,” he said.
“As she says, it’s her favourite place to be in the world.”
In a profile of the 26-year-old published by Forbes Australia in December, Alcock said she could be found at the Petersham Bowling Club when she was in Sydney.
“All my friends hang out there,” she said.
“It hasn’t changed much, which is nice.”
Mr Catsi acknowledged the actress’ success on the big screen.

“She’s our Supergirl and we’re her super club,” he joked.
As it stands, the venue is only accessible by stairs and is not wheelchair accessible.
The bowling club established a GoFundMe to raise $50,000 to help change that.
“This accessibility upgrade is the most important and largest building upgrade the club has had since an extension was made in the 1970s,” the description reads.
“It’s not a dream. It’s a necessity and we need to make it happen.”
The actress shared the bowling club’s post thanking her for her donation to her Instagram story.
“Go find the PBC to help them build (their) accessibility ramp!!!!” she wrote.
In the caption of the video, the venue said they were “deeply grateful” for Alcock’s support.
“We talk a lot about community because it’s the very fabric of who we are, and Milly is a wonderful example of that,” it read.
“Like all of us, the memories of our favourite places stay with us. Returning to them can feel like coming home—to the person you once were, while bringing with you all the experience, perspective and wisdom you’ve gained along the way.
“Milly has gone out into the world and forged her own beautiful path, and we’re so proud to have been able to watch her thrive.
“No matter where life takes her, she carries a part of home with her wherever she goes.”
After Supergirl’s London premier on Friday, Alcock’s performance was praised as “perfect”.
“Milly Alcock cementing herself as one of the greatest comic book castings of all time,” one viewer wrote.
