Bondi Rescue rescue star Andrew Reid will “vigorously defend” domestic violence charges laid against the lifeguard, his legal team says.

Reid, 45, has already pleaded not guilty to two counts of common assault (DV) over alleged incidents at Chatwood in November 2022 and January 2024, the Sydney Morning Herald reports.

A third charge — assault occasioning actual bodily harm (DV) — relates to an alleged incident in March. All claims relate to the same woman.

“There are three very disparate allegations with a long time in between all, of which on the defence case, could be accounted for by an accident,” his barrister Margaret Cunneen SC told the publication.

“There is no hitting or punching alleged. His good character will be squarely raised in the question of proof in these allegations.”

The next hearing date has been set for March 25 at Hornsby Local Court.

Reid previously told how he jumped into action during the Westfield Bondi Junction stabbing rampage in April.

The lifeguard said he asked to be let out of a Myer store which was locked down to protect customers when he saw a lady and “blood everywhere”.

“I realised I had to go and help because that’s what we’re trained to do as lifeguards,” he said.
