Huw Edwards has split from his TV producer wife, it was claimed last night.

Edwards, 62, has allegedly moved out of the family home in Dulwich, south London, which he shared with Vicky Flind.

It is believed that the former News at Ten presenter has been dividing his time between a home in Wandsworth, south-west London, and his native Wales.

Edwards is due at Westminster Magistrates’ Court in central London today, having been accused of child pornography offences after 37 indecent images were allegedly shared on a WhatsApp chat.

He faces three counts relating to offences alleged to have taken place between December 2020 and April 2022.

Edwards is accused of having six category A images, the most serious classification of indecent images, on a phone. He is also accused of having 12 category B and 19 category C photographs.

He got engaged to Ms Flind in 1993, and the couple have three sons and two daughters.

Speaking of their split, a source told The Sun: “They separated quite a long time ago but have not announced it publicly.”

They added: “Huw has been living elsewhere for a while.”

In April, Edwards resigned from the BBC on medical grounds and left without a payout despite having two years on his contract which could have meant he was entitled to about £900,000 ($1,766,520)

He then moved in with his mother in Wales. But it was revealed earlier this week that Edwards had been arrested on November 8 last year and charged just over a month ago on June 26 following authorisation from the Crown Prosecution Service.

Edwards was the BBC’s highest-paid news anchor and its third-highest-paid star last year — despite being off the air during the nine months before he resigned on medical grounds in April.

He received a bumper raise of about £40,000 ($78,512) to earn a salary as high as £479,999 (more than $942,142), and rose one place in the pay rankings behind only Match Of The Day host Gary Lineker and Radio 2 breakfast host Zoe Ball.

It is understood Edwards received the 9 per cent pay increase for his work covering the Queen’s death in September 2022 and the King’s Coronation in 2023.

Edwards spent almost four decades at the BBC, originally spending 12 years as a parliamentary correspondent for BBC Wales before he was elevated to the host of the Six O’Clock News then promoted to anchor the BBC News at Ten in 2003.
