Seven’s merger with Southern Cross Austereo in January saw the combined business adopt the Southern Cross Media Group name.

Seven Media Group, which boasts a market-leading presence across broadcast television, audio, publishing and digital through Seven, Listener, the Hit and Triple M Networks, The West Australian and The Nightly reaches more than 20.4 million Australians each month, and Lund said the company’s vision was to bring the country together.

“Australians still seek the same things they always have: to know, to belong, to celebrate, to escape, to be entertained, to connect, and increasingly, to know who—and what—they can trust,” he told a packed room of investors, advertisers and media industry experts at a prestige event in Sydney,” he said.

“Our job is to meet Australians where they are. Across television, audio, publishing, and digital, we continue to grow and engage audiences across every platform. No single channel replaces another—instead, our pillars operate both as powerful standalone media and as an interconnected ecosystem, where each platform amplifies the strength of the others to connect with viewers, listeners, and readers wherever they are.”

Central to Seven Media Group’s strategy is the core pillars of news, sport and entertainment.

The unrivalled home of free sport in Australia, Seven’s packed sporting schedule includes AFL, Cricket, the Supercars Championship including the iconic Bathurst 100, Horse Racing, the NFL and the Super Bowl, plus the World Surf League, international cycling’s Tour Down Under, as well as blockbuster international tournaments such as the Rugby League World Cup.

Bolstering the upcoming Summer of Cricket coverage will be recent England Cricket Test coach Brendon ‘Baz’ McCullum making his return to the commentary box for the first time since 2020 and the return of much-loved analyst and commentator, former English fast bowler Stuart Broad.

Aussie cricket icon Ricky Ponting will also add his voice to the commentary across the Triple M network.

In news Seven boasts the No.1 news service in 7News’ nightly 6pm bulletin, and the No.1 breakfast show in ratings juggernaut Sunrise.

But as Christopher Dore, the editor-in-chief of The West Australian and The Nightly told the audience at the Upfronts, the company’s influence extends well beyond broadcast.

“Newspapers stir emotions, drive change, campaign for the community. We set the tone. Drive and underpin the conversations on TV, radio, social media,” he said.

“Influencers thrive off the content our journalists create. Politicians love and loathe them.

Likewise, business leaders fear and fret over them.

“In a world where the lines between real and fake are blurred beyond comprehension, newspapers and our digital news brands are still the antidote,” Dore said.

Through The West Australian, The Sunday Times, PerthNow, and digital-first news brand The Nightly, Seven reaches 84 per cent of West Australians. The West Australian is read by two in three West Australians every month.

In entertainment, it was revealed that beloved singer and host Ricki-Lee Coulter and comedian Jim Jeffries will head to the jungle as the hosts of I’m A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here on its new home on Seven.

Ricki-Lee said it was a “huge honour” to be asked to host the show, which is expected to start filming early next year.

“I’m such a massive fan,” she said.

“And to be (hosting) alongside the incredible Jim Jefferies makes it even better!

“For years I’ve watched on from the comfort of my couch and now I get to experience it up close and personal — while standing comfortably off to the side with Jim.”

Along with the I’m A Celebrity announcement, Seven, which was the No.1 network in 2026 with a 43.3 per cent commercial share, also revealed an “ambitious” slate of shows for next year.

Making an appearance in the schedule is new prime-time game show, Stacks of Cash, to be hosted by Sunrise co-host Shirvington.

Jacobson will also be at the helm of “the ultimate quiz battle” Caught In The Middle, which will see one duo stand at the centre of a giant LED arena in an attempt to outsmart 100 opponents across 15 questions.

Parky, a feature-length documentary about celebrity interviewer Michael Parkinson, is also on the way, along with Bear Grylls Is Running Wild, which sees the British adventurer take big stars like Matthew McConaughey, Colman Domingo and Uma Thurman on a “48-hour journey of survival through home of the planet’s most unforgiving landscapes.”

In the lifestyle space, Neale Whitaker’s Forever Home will see viewers following the interior design expert and his partner David Novak-Piper as they restore a heritage-listed cottage on the NSW south coast into their “forever home”.

Returning to Seven next year are audience hits Australian Idol, MKR, Farmer Wants A Wife, Home and Away, The 1% Club Australia, The 1% Club UK, The Chase Australia and its primetime companion, Larry & Friends.

Glenn & Mick’s Celebrity Intervention returns, alongside fan favourites Better Homes and Gardens, Border Security, Highway Patrol, Off The Grid with Colin and Manu, and Shane Jacobson’s Ooops! I Bought A Pub, as well as 24 Hours in Police Custody, Air Crash Investigations and Ambulance: Code Red.
