American tennis star shares regret over skipping Aus Open's 1 Point Slam.

After expressing regret over skipping the Australian Open’s 1 Point Slam pre-tournament event this week, American tennis player Taylor Fritz has shared his sardonic reaction to getting called out on live TV for his no-show.

The exhibition event pits amateur players and wildcards against bona fide stars in a knock-out draw offering a $1 million grand prize, held days out from the Melbourne-based grand slam’s official commencement on Sunday.

Sydney amateur player Jordan Smith took out the event, advancing past world number two Jannik Sinner, with Fritz expressing his “FOMO” over opting not to participate.

“Now that I’m actually watching it on TV, massive L from me to not be playing the one point slam, this looks like so much fun,” he shared to X.

However, not only did the star have his social media post shared live on-air during the broadcast, but commentators Renae Stubbs and Todd Woodbridge directly called him out for having skipped the event.

“Taylor, next year get your butt out here,” Stubbs said.

“Come on, you should be here,” Woodbridge added, beckoning to the world number 9.

Fritz’ girlfriend and prominent influencer Morgan Riddle captured his live reaction to the commentary, which she captioned, “fomo :(“ in a video shared to her Instagram story.

Fritz appeared dejected as the camera panned from the TV to the topless star, who subtly shook his head and smirked as he accepted he’d made an error in judgment.

Fritz competed in Perth earlier this month for the United Cup tournament, with Riddle accompanying him on his Aussie jaunt as she does most years.
