Weezer rocker Scott Shriner’s wife shot during police chase, charged with attempted murder

Weezer bass player Scott Shriner’s wife Jillian Shriner has been shot by an LAPD officer, after she allegedly pointed a gun at a policeman as she stood in the yard of her Los Angeles home.
The dramatic incident occurred when LAPD police officers stopped to assist California Highway Patrol in finding three suspects following a hit-and-run in the Eagle Rock neighbourhood of the city.
Initially, officers set up a perimeter off the 134 freeway after the three suspects ran into a residential neighbourhood.

Police ordered her to drop the gun multiple times.

However, they allege she refused and pointed the firearm at officers.
Officers then shot her.
Police allege Shriner went back into a house, only to come out and be taken into custody.
Paramedics took her to a local hospital, where she is being treated for non life-threatening injuries.
A 9-millimeter handgun was taken from her home, police allege.
Police said she was not involved in the hit-and-run. However, she was charged with attempted murder.
The investigation is still ongoing.
Weezer are an American rock band who have had numerous hits including Say It Ain’t So, Island In The Sun, Buddy Holly, Pork and Beans, Beverly Hills and their cover of Toto’s ‘80s classic Africa.
Shriner is an author of multiple books, including the true crime non-fiction book Behold the Monster.
She married husband Scott in 2005. The pair share two children.
Scott is the longest running bassist in Weezer’s history.
Weezer were recently added to the Coachella line-up.
