ALDI Australia’s Buying Director, Daniel Quinlan, said the supermarket chain was proud to deliver a “premium cafe experience” with the “perfect beans” to customers at an affordable price.
“The win is a proud reflection of the consistent quality and value ALDI delivers to customers across their grocery shop,” Mr Quinlan said.
“It’s clear Aussies appreciate great coffee at a great price – and we’re proud to deliver exactly that.”
ALDI Australia has partnered with Black Bag Roasters for over a decade to produce its popular Lazzio coffee range.
The demand for Lazzio coffee has jumped significantly since it was introduced to ALDI Australia stores, soaring from supplying four tonnes of coffee beans in 2014 to 65 tonnes per week in 2024.
The Lazzio line-up features seven distinct blends, including medium and dark roast beans, single-origin options from Brazil and Colombia, and a premium offering known as Lazzio Luxe Blend Beans.
Among this year’s wins at the 2025 Golden Bean Awards were two new additions to the range – the Lazzio Luxe Reserve Single-Origin Guatemala and Ethiopia Beans.
The highly anticipated products took out gold in the Large Chain Espresso category and silver in the Large Chain Milk-Based category, respectively.
Sceptics will have a chance to judge for themselves when both blends hit shelves on July 23.
