The biggest night on the Hollywood calendar has come back around, and while all eyes are on who will take home an Oscar, tongues have been wagging about the outfits from this year’s red carpet.

From extravagant floor-length gowns to coloured tuxedos, designers went all out with statement pieces for actors and singer-songwriters to showcase.

Silver dresses and glittering gowns were a common sight on Demi Moore, Selena Gomez, Emma Stone, Halle Berry, and Miley Cyrus.

Rapper Doja Cat showed up in a feline-themed bodice dress but later changed into another gown for her ceremony performance of Diamonds are Forever that was dripping with diamonds to create an almost water-like illusion.

Thai rapper and singer Lisa broke from tradition and wore neither a dress nor a suit.

The look, by Markgong, featured an elongated black coat, with a matching long dress shirt underneath.

Other famous faces accessorised with a feather boa and fashionable sunglasses while some gowns featured interesting sleeves and long trains.
