A foodie has taken to TikTok after paying an arm and a leg for breakfast at a trendy Sydney cafe. Mark Crotti was chowing down at 'Pina' in Potts Point, but his followers almost choked at the cost.

An Aussie customer was flabbergasted when he shelled out an epic $47 for breakfast at a cafe in the affluent inner Sydney suburb of Potts Point.

TikTok star Mark, who often reviews breakfasts on his channel, shared a photo of the breakfast plate at Pina on Saturday, before doing a breakdown of the price of his meal.

Mark was dining alongside a male pal, with the pair’s bill coming to a total of $140.

Mark acknowledged he first paid $32 for a steak and egg dish then opted for sides including a hash brown, avocado, and bacon.

The hipster diner also purchased a congee dish, at a cost of $26.

The rest of the bill was made-up of three coffees and a weekend surcharge.

“I’m not ripping on anyone for pricing or anything. I’m just saying $47 each for this plate,” Mark said in the clip.

“50 bucks before coffee, crazy times, man.”

Mark explained it wasn’t even the most expensive breakfast he had paid for all year and had previously shelled out $170 for another breakfast.

But he did say he thought the breakfast was worth it.

“The coffee was mint, (the) breakfast was one of the best I’ve had all year,” he said.

Cafe owner Andrew Hardjasudarma defended the price of the meal in comments to NewsCorp, saying it was because of the quality of the Wagyu steak and the other ingredients.

“We can assure (customers) what we’ve got is the quality, it’s different than any other (cafe),” he said.

“I know for some it’s expensive. But I have to believe that the quality will tell.”

The clip got a mixed response online.

“That’s crazy,” one person wrote.

“What was under the egg? $47 is outrageous,” another wrote.

“Welcome to Potts Point,” another added.
