Amazing house on The Hill all set to smash Newcastle price record
Newcastle’s high-end property market shows no signs of slowing, with a freshly renovated house at The Hill chasing another significant price.
The five-bedroom, two-bathroom house at 3 Cliff Street is for sale via an off-market expressions of interest campaign with Lyndall Allan at Salt Property.
Ms Allan could not comment on a price guide but said it was consistent with other luxury home sales in Newcastle.

The house on Cliff Street is one of only three properties along the oceanfront reserve next to Strzelecki Lookout and Anzac Memorial Walk.
“It is incredibly rare because although there are beachfront homes along John Parade [in Merewether], there is nothing else like this on the cliff face in Newcastle,” Ms Allan said.
“The view is incredible.
“It is fully renovated and what else is rare is that it has a double garage and a big backyard.”
Known for its distinctive P&O-style architectural features, the house recently underwent a major renovation across its two levels, including an internal lift.
There are five bedrooms, two marble bathrooms and a powder room, with the downstairs lounge room and master bedroom upstairs filled with natural light from the home’s north-facing aspect.
The new kitchen has a large island and stone benchtops.
However, the outlook is arguably the most impressive feature of the home.
A circular balcony takes in vast ocean views and large windows look across the nearby heritage-listed Shepherds Hill cottage.

The master bedroom has views of the coastline and the city, stretching as far as Mount Sugarloaf.
The 499-square-metre property also has a large yard and a lawn area with a fire pit.
“It is the most amazing view,” the agent said.
“We saw whales and dolphins when we were there and it feels like you are sitting on a boat.”
The house was sold unrenovated in an off-market deal in July last year for an undisclosed price with Green St. Property.
Before that, the property was held for 30 years after selling in June 1993 for $400,000.
The median sale price of a house at The Hill is $2.01 million, according to CoreLogic.
It’s not the only listing in Newcastle chasing a significant price.
Ms Allan is marketing a sprawling estate on 2002 square metres at 8 Kempster Road in Merewether for around $10 million.
Anthony Di Nardo at Belle Property has listed a four-bedroom, five-bedroom apartment at 1207/75 Shortland Esplanade in Newcastle, also with price expectations of around $10 million.
