Radio shock jock Kyle Sandilands has finally spoken out after a heated on-air bust-up with Jackie 'O' Henderson that led to her departure from the Kyle and Jackie O Show.

The long-running duo fell out on February 20 after Sandilands, 54, accused his long-time co-host's fixation with star charts as causing her to be "off with the fairies" at work

"Your fixation on this has made you almost unworkable. You are off with the fairies with this s---. It's mental," Sandilands said on air.

In a statement released to The Guardian earlier this week, Sandilands apologised for the way he spoke to Henderson.

"On 20 February, I had an argument with Jackie on air about something that had been bothering me for a while," he said in the statement.

"I said things I wish I had said differently. That same evening, I sent Jackie a message telling her I was sorry for anything I said that didn't go down well, that I love her and care for her, and that I could have handled it better.

"I meant every word of that, and I still do. Jackie and I have worked together for over 25 years. She is one of the most important people in my life. The idea that our partnership could end like this is devastating to me."

He is halfway through a 14-day suspension handed down on March 3.

The radio king's statement landed just days after Henderson released her own stating that she did "not quit or resign" from the Kyle and Jackie O Show.

"I am deeply saddened by the events of the past week and the possibility of the show ending," she said.

"This has come as a shock to me, as it has to everyone else."

In November 2023, the duo signed a 10-year contract worth $200 million to host their morning breakfast show.

As Australia's highest-paid radio stars, Kyle and Jackie O's lucrative earnings have led to success on the property market.

In March 2023, Henderson dropped $13.2 million on an oceanfront block with uninterrupted views over Gordons Bay in Clovelly, reportedly paying $1.25 million above the reserve at auction.

The original dwelling was demolished to make way for a $5 million rebuild with a luxury mansion and a swimming pool.

The four-bedroom house, designed by architect Madeleine Blanchfield, is still under construction.

Cotality records reveal she paid $11 million for the property at auction in 2020.

She moved into the property after selling the five-bedroom Vaucluse mansion she shared with ex-husband Lee Henderson in March 2020 for $6.675 million.

Cotality records show the former couple, who split in 2018, paid $2.7 million for the 766-square-metre property in 2012.

Meanwhile, Sandilands is also making moves in property after listing his sprawling mansion on Sydney's north-western outskirts.

He bought the semi-rural property, Kingsview Estate, at 147 Halcrows Road in Glenorie, in 2022 for $3 million on the eve of welcoming his first child, Otto, with wife Tegan Kynaston.

Occupying 2.34 acres, Sandilands embarked on a full renovation of the two-storey residence, stripping it back to the bare bones to transform it into a luxury home that pairs contemporary interiors with traditional Georgian character.

Kingsview Estate is listed with Carolyn Wheatley at Belle Property Dural with a price guide of $5.7 million to $5.9 million.

Despite hopes of living at the estate permanently with his wife and son, the property has only been used as a weekender, hence their decision to sell.

The couple spend most of their time in a luxury house in Sydney's exclusive Vaucluse, purchased in 2023 for $14 million.

Last year, Sandilands bought a holiday house on the Central Coast in Copacabana for $1.8 million.

The three-bedroom, two-bathroom fixer-upper is being renovated, including a new in-ground swimming pool and landscaping.

Shortly after making his move into the Central Coast property market, Sandilands sold a luxury three-bedroom, two-bathroom holiday house in Port Douglas for about $2.55 million in December 2024.

Despite dropping the asking price, the sale earned a profit for the controversial broadcaster who bought it for $1.3 million in 2020.
