Television personality Ray Martin sells Waverton home of 34 years for more than $8 million
Renowned television personality Ray Martin has sold his Waverton home of 34 years for more than $8 million.
Martin and his wife Dianne purchased the Sydney property in 1990 for $900,000 and have called it home ever since. The property was also home to the couple’s two children Luke and Jenna.
Built in the 1930s, the house hit the market on New Year’s Day and sold two weeks later on the 15th of January after a buyer made a pre-auction offer.

The property features original period details, formal and casual living spaces, generous bedrooms with built-in robes, chef’s kitchen, wine cellar and off-street parking for three cars.
The upper level of the home offers impressive views of Sydney harbour and the city skyline.

The property is located on Sydney’s North Shore, only 5km to the CBD. It is within walking distance to Waverton Station, Victoria Cross Metro and a range of local schools.
The sale of the property was managed by agents Peter Chauncy and Brooke Lumb from McGrath Crows Nest.
The award-winning journalist began his career working for the ABC as a cadet. He then joined the original team of reporters at Nine’s 60 Minutes, before becoming the host of A Current Affair.
One of the most awarded television stars in Australia, Martin is a five time Gold Logie winner, as well as a member of the Order of Australia.
Last year, Martin presented a three-part SBS series, Ray Martin: The Last Goodbye. In the series he explored the traditions and customs associated with death and funerals.
