The dig is done! An update on Andy Lee and Rebecca Harding's renovation

With a sigh of relief heard across Hawthorn, comedian Andy Lee and Lui Body founder Rebecca Harding have announced that the dig is done!
The couple are currently renovating a 150-year-old property they purchased in 2021 for $8 million. The historic property had been on the market for just 18 days before the couple snapped it up.
Built in 1876, the Italianate mansion had fallen into disrepair after sitting empty for a decade. As part of their grand plans, the celebrity couple have engaged renowned designer David Flack from Flack Studio and builder Visioneer.

In an article by The Age, it was reported that Booroondara council had received several complaints in relation to parking, traffic issues and noise.
Seemingly referencing the controversy, the couple announced that the "final big digger has left the building."
"We thank you for your service, the neighbours do not! Onward and upward (literally)."
The couple have been sharing updates on Thebuild_ravenswood Instagram account, which currently has over 203k followers.
The walk-through
The latest post on the Ravenswood account shows Harding giving a "Garage to basement laundry walk through" with voice-over from Lee.
In the video, Lee explains to followers where the basement bathroom will be, the lift shaft, Harding's sauna and into a laundry that is so big it would put most commercial laundromats to shame.
The extra-large laundry will have an island bench, drying room and a bath for their beloved dog Henri.
Friends and fans of the couple were very excited about this update. Actor Christie Whelan Browne commented "can i move into your laundry?"
Other comments included "It will be gorgeous when it's finished" and "I cannot wait to see that laundry! Sounds like a dream."
As well as having her own bath, Harding told Nova's Jase and Lauren in an interview that the pampered pooch would also have her own bedroom.
"Well, [Henri] doesn't have a wing. She's got a bedroom," Bec told the hosts.
The render reveals
In one of the biggest reveals, a video of Lee and Harding seeing renders of their extension was posted on the account.
Looking at the render, Lee states "This is feeling pretty cool, isn't it?" Harding is surprised and delighted when she clocks it - "I haven't seen that render before... I love it! It's so gorgeous."
The extension or 'river house' will be clad in an blue-green oxidised copper or what Lee compares to as looking like "the Statue of Liberty".
In another video, Lee talks through the renders, including giving an explanation of how the two houses (the river house and the heritage house) are connected through an outdoor piazza area and an underground tunnel.
Previous updates from the couple included Lee showing off the ultimate boy toy - a golf simulator - a completed sub-floor and work on the garden through the planting of mature Scarlet Oak trees, Jacarandas and Ficus trees.
