The real 'Five Bedrooms': Four Sydney mums have listed their shared holiday home

In what sounds like the plot of Australian TV series Five Bedrooms, four Sydney mums are selling their shared holiday house in Daleys Point.
Yes, you got that right. In 2021, four women who met through their children, banded together to purchase a holiday house so their families could spend time together.
In a statement from Ray White, one of the owners Shirley said she and her close friends had always dreamed of buying a waterfront holiday home.

Shirley said it wasn't just the "stunning water views" that drew them to the property, but the wealth of activities and facilities that kept the families entertained on holidays.

Those facilities include a pool with sundeck, private jetty with boat ramp, full-size tennis court and squash court.
Shirley said over the years the kids spent hours in the swimming pool and playing on the tennis court.

"We also loved the unique basketball and squash court combination, along with a games area that included ping pong and a pool table," she said.
"For quieter moments, there's a beautiful library with elegant wood-crafted stairs, while evenings often ended in the karaoke room or gathered around the bar entertaining friends."

Before the friends purchased the home, Shirley said the property was rich with its own history.
"Its previous owner, a professional concert pianist from Europe, and her husband built the residence with a vision to host their close friends and grand corporate events," she said. "The European-inspired design and thoughtful layout reflect that heritage, offering both elegance and versatility."

With room for all four families, the resort-style residence features seven bedrooms, five bathrooms, and multiple indoor and outdoor entertaining areas.
Spread over an expansive five levels, the floors are accessible via staircase and elevator.
Ray White Bensville Empire Bay director, Matthew Kidd, said the property could fit many buyers' needs including being used as a luxury family retreat, holiday rental or a venue for corporate events.

When the families weren't using it, the home had already operated as a successful Airbnb.
"From the craftsmanship of the timber detailing to the solid double-brick construction, every element reflects quality and timeless design," Mr Kidd said.

"Combined with its remarkable lifestyle features and uninterrupted water views, this residence offers an unparalleled opportunity for those seeking a luxury waterfront retreat."
So why are the friends giving it up? Shirley said that despite creating many "treasured memories" at the property, a combination of children growing up and life commitments meant it wasn't being used as much.

"It's such a special place, but we simply don't get here as often anymore," she said. "It's time for someone else to enjoy it as much as we did."
126 Daley Avenue, Daleys Point is currently listed for sale by Matthew Kidd and Tiffany Mooney from Ray White Bensville Empire Bay. The property is listed via an expressions of interest campaign with a $4 million price guide.
