Louise Price, a homeowner in the town of Leura in the Blue Mountains in NSW can tell you exactly how many bulbs she has planted in her impressive garden in the horticulturalist hotspot.

"I've planted 4000 bulbs," she said.

Planting those precious bulbs and seeing them bloom in spring, has been one of the great pleasures at the property she is now selling.

She bought what was a well-maintained "but a bit unloved" arts-and-crafts-style home and gardens in 2019, after many years working and living in Singapore.

Since then she has worked both inside and out to make the property the impressive and welcoming world it is today.

The location which offers rich soils and four distinct seasons, is a gardener's delight.

There were also remnants of the original Paul Sorensen designed garden including stone walls that have been rebuilt.

"The garden was established in the early 1920s and after 100 years they were falling down," she said.

Those distinctive walls provide a backdrop to the stunning garden that has been nurtured over recent years by the current owner.

Likewise the original house has been given a new lease of life, with the older wing repainted and restored, while still retaining original features including a welcoming dining room with an open fireplace.

A new wing with floor-to-ceiling windows to take in the surrounding garden view, has also been added, making the house a substantial home.

This is something that Ms Price will particularly miss.

"You feel like you are actually sitting in the garden from there," she said.

The property is for sale with McGrath Blue Mountains with a price guide of $3.7 million to $3.8 million.

Here are some other garden delights on the market.

Bring your gardeners

This garden estate, also in the Blue Mountains, is on a slightly grander scale. So it's looking for a green thumb who also might be able to bring in some help with the upkeep of this beautiful estate.

A fine project

This garden has all the great features, including a stunning lake with bridge that looks like its come from famed French artist Claude Monet's garden in Giverny.

It just needs someone who can picture its potential. A picture-perfect house complete with vine-covered walls and tennis court make it an appealing buy.
