A sun-soaked crowd gathered in the meticulously landscaped backyard of 6 Antill Street, Wilston, to witness a modern Queenslander transformed into a contemporary family sanctuary.

Ray White agent Alistair Macmillan recounted the drama: "Hot weather brought 100 onlookers to the property while six serious bidders went head to head. Bids opened at $2.4 million then stalled at $2.5 million, and that immediately cut the field in half."

The stunning designer renovations played a central role in the hot competition.

"The offers slowed again around $2.7 million," Macmillan continued, "but a young couple, represented by their agent, struck the final $10,000 blow to secure the keys for $2.71 million."

Originally purchased as an investment three years ago for $990,000, the vendors walked away with a significant gain, reflecting both the value of their renovations and the strong Wilston market.

The home itself showcased considered planning for modern family life: a chef's kitchen with butler's pantry, dual living areas, a media room and an expansive primary suite upstairs, complemented by a poolside patio and barbecue kitchen that made the auction day's hot sun feel entirely welcome.

Macmillan summed up the appeal succinctly: "The competition for this home was a direct result of the beautiful renovations by the owners. Every detail has been thoughtfully executed to create an exceptional family environment."

Brisbane saw 215 homes go to auction this week, edging up from 209 the week prior. Cotality reports the preliminary clearance rate fell to a four-week low of 71.8 percent, while last week's initial figure of 77.8 percent was revised down to 69.9%.

The crowd expected action. No one expected a six-year-old critic.

A lively mix of onlookers packed into the two bedroom unit at 3/32 Town View Terrace, located in the coastal hotspot of Margaret River, three hours from Perth ready to see ten registered bidders chase a rare foothold just moments from the centre of town.

Ray White agent Anthony Marinovich watched six of them leap in early as the auction opened at an approachable $420k.

One buyer fired off a bold $50k jump, which set the tone for a spirited run of tens and fives that eventually thinned to threes and ones as two investors, both bidding over the phone, took command.

Just as the bids lifted, a bored child in the crowd punctured the tension with a blunt verdict that sent laughter through the room. "I wouldn't buy it. It's ugly!" she declared, oblivious to the investment opportunity the unit presented in a tight market.

The bidders ignored the review. Determined and unshaken, the eventual victor, an interstate investor pressed ahead, landing the final move at $665k.

The last call dropped the hammer on a strong result for the vendors who were a local family who purchased the property in 2013 for $252,000.

Marinovich summed up the day with a grin, describing a contest shaped by "great energy, smart bidding and a result that reflected genuine demand for a town-centre investment."

For the week ending 15 November 2025, Perth held 16 auctions with a clearance rate of 75 percent In comparison to the national average, Perth's auction clearance rate was higher than the national rate of 67.4 percent.

Bidding launched at $650k then climbed in measured $25k strides. When just two paddles remained, the battle shifted to tight $5k and $3k lifts.

The townhouse featured a master suite with a balcony built for quiet evenings, or a perfect spot to catch the New Year's Eve fireworks, an open living zone washed with natural light and a kitchen fitted for modern ease.

With Semaphore Beach nearby and Port Adelaide's amenities within easy reach, the address offered a family friendly, connected lifestyle that felt immediately inviting at a relatively affordable price.

The final raise came from a local family who steadied the room with a confident bid. The hammer struck at $825k.

With the First Home Guarantee's property price cap for metropolitan Adelaide now at $900,000, this property was a prime example of what you can get within earshot of the city with a 5% deposit.

Adelaide recorded its busiest auction week of the year with 154 homes going under the hammer, according to Cotality, though the preliminary clearance rate dipped to a 15-week low of 67.7 percent
