Changi Airport: Singapore’s travel gateway begins construction on elevated private terminal and dining hub
The award-winning airport is set to please both high-end travellers and economy passengers.

Singapore’s award-winning Changi Airport is set to become even more popular with luxury travellers, undergoing major works to benefit both luxury travellers and economy passengers.
Set to land at the international airport in mid-2027, the “premium gateway” is headlined by a new private terminal poised to take over over the former Commercially Important Persons (CIP) terminal site.
Passengers passing through the terminal will have access to a deluxe lounge and bar, elegant private suites designed for resting and relaxing, curated dining experiences, and a high-end event space for larger entourages or private gatherings.
Included in the flashy development is a massive upgrade to Changi’s more publicly accessibly Hub & Spoke amenities area, with extended dining, wellness, and lifestyle offerings to be enjoyed by passengers and locals.

Hub & Spoke currently offers passengers an avenue to explore outdoor activities within the confines of the airport grounds, as well as casual dining options, pay-per-use showers, and gym facilities.
Mr Ang Siew Min, CAG’s Senior Vice President, Airport Operations Development and Airport Operations Services explained the motivation behind the upgrades.
“Some of today’s travellers seek more than just a comfortable place to spend time before their flight — they are after a personalised premium experience. CAG is meeting this demand with an upgraded private terminal that delivers an exceptional experience,” he said.
“In addition, a curated selection of dining and wellness offerings awaits just steps from the private terminal, further enriching the suite of options available to our passengers.”

Changi Airport is frequently ranked among the best in the world for passenger experience, named Best Airport in the World by Skytrax 14 times, including in 2026.
As the world’s fourth busiest airport, a whopping 69.98 million passengers passed through in 2025.
Changi Airport is also renowned for offering a raft of interactive activities for travellers, including its Butterfly Garden, Canopy Park, a rock climbing wall, Hedge Maze, and natural Dreamscape path.
