Princess Cruises ship hit by second norovirus outbreak this year, with more than 80 passengers and crew sick

A dream cruise has turned into a nightmare for 82 people suffering vomiting and diarrhoea on board.
The Coral Princess, carrying 1906 passengers and 895 crew from California to Florida, reported a norovirus outbreak last Friday, just two days before the end of the nearly three-week journey, US Centres for Disease Control and Prevention said.
A total of 69 passengers and 13 crew members were affected by the highly contagious virus, showing symptoms of vomiting and diarrhoea.

The cruise line intensified cleaning and disinfection procedures and isolated those who were ill, the CDC said.
Stool specimens were also collected for testing.
The nearly 300m-long, 60m-tall ship began its journey in Los Angeles on February 21, with stops in Mexico, Costa Rica, Aruba, and the Panama Canal before arriving in Florida on March 9.
This marks the second norovirus outbreak aboard the Coral Princess this year, following a previous incident in January in which more than 140 passengers and crew fell sick.
