Anthony Albanese heaps praise on Donald Trump following US-led Gaza peace deal
Prime Minister Anthony Albanese says President Donald Trump “deserves congratulations” following the US-led Gaza peace deal.
Speaking to reporters in Brisbane heaped praise on the US leader, just weeks before he is due to meet him in Washington D.C. much welcomes the breakthrough on issue.
“I think President Trump deserves congratulations for the leadership the United States has shown,” Mr Albanese said.

Asked if Australia has received a request to send troops to the Middle East to monitor the deal, the Prime Minister says his government will work closely with allies.
Foreign Minister Penny Wong has welcomed news that Israel’s cabinet has approved the first stage of a proposed peace plan and has congratulated US President Donald Trump for his efforts.
Earlier Foreign Minister Penny Wong told a senate estimates hearing that Australia had been consistently part of international efforts to build momentum towards an end to “this horrific war”.
“That is such welcome news for the people of Gaza, the people of Israel and for all the region and I’m sure around the world this will be received with both relief and joy,” Senator Wong said.
“It’s an important step towards a ceasefire, return of hostages and a sustainable path to a long-term peace,” she added.
