A convoy of boats have sailed on Sydney Harbour calling for Australians to “stand against anti-Semitism” as thousands of pro-Palestine protests descend on Sydney city.

About a dozen boats, carrying slogans urging Australians to “stand together”, sailed near Luna Park on Sunday, with protesters waving Australian flags lining the shore.

It comes as thousands of pro-Palestine protesters march through the Sydney CBD after a planned protest at the Opera House was shit down by the Supreme Court.

The event is supported Never Again Is Now, a pro-Israel Christian fundamentalist group, as well Stand With Us and the Zionist Council of NSW.

The event comes after protests groups supporting both Israel and Palestine marked two-years of war in Gaza during the week.

More than 60,000 people have been killed in Gaza in Israel’s attack on the coastal enclave since Hamas’ attack on October 7, 2023.

In August, about of 90,000 people marched across Sydney Harbour Bridge, including WikiLeaks found Julian Assange and Greens and Labor MPs.

NSW Premier Chris Minns staunchly opposed the protest across the bridge and backed police in opposing the application for Sunday’s Opera House rally.
