Donald Trump condemns Iran's human shield tactic as Strait of Hormuz deadline and extinction warning nears
US President Donald Trump has unleashed over the use of human bodies as shields across Iran, following a request from the regime for youth, students and athletes to protect the vital infrastructure.
As the deadline set by US President Donald Trump approaches, tensions have intensified after reports that Iranian civilians were urged to gather around key infrastructure sites potentially targeted in US or Israeli strikes.
Mr Trump has condemned the tactic, describing calls for civilians to form protective chains around power plants and bridges as “totally illegal”.
“Totally illegal. They’re not allowed to do that,” Mr Trump said when asked about crowds gathering near infrastructure such as Iranian power plants and bridges, as the countdown continues towards his ultimatum tied to Iran reopening the Strait of Hormuz.

In recent remarks, Mr Trump suggested catastrophic outcomes could unfold if the deadline passes without agreement, heightening global concern about the risk of escalation in the Middle East.
The President took to his Truth Social platform to deliver what is being viewed as either a final bid for peace — including to open the Strait of Hormuz — or a terrifying precursor to a massive military escalation.
“A whole civilization will die tonight, never to be brought back again. I don’t want that to happen, but it probably will,” Mr Trump wrote.
“However, now that we have Complete and Total Regime Change, where different, smarter, and less radicalized minds prevail, maybe something revolutionarily wonderful can happen, WHO KNOWS?
“We will find out tonight, one of the most important moments in the long and complex history of the World. 47 years of extortion, corruption, and death, will finally end. God Bless the Great People of Iran!”
Mr Trump also confirmed the US and Tehran remain locked in “heated negotiations” as diplomatic efforts continue behind the scenes. He said he was awaiting further briefings following reports Pakistan’s prime minister had urged a short extension to allow more time for talks.
“I can’t tell you, because right now we’re in heated negotiations,” Mr Trump said.
The situation remains fluid as global leaders and markets closely watch whether negotiations will lead to de-escalation or further confrontation, with the Strait of Hormuz at the centre of the standoff.
