Former President Barack Obama also received a special bottle of Coca-Cola when president, however, this is understood to be the first diet offering.
Mr Trump has a long history with Diet Coke, including the time he tweeted: “I have never seen a thin person drinking Diet Coke.”
During Mr Trump’s first term in the White House, he could summon a bottle, or can, of Diet Coke simply by pressing a button on the Resolute desk in the Oval Office.
It is understood that when Mr Trump pressed the button, hidden within a wooden box, a valet would race in with a fresh Diet Coke served on a silver platter.
In 2017, then-President Trump told AP that visitors to the Oval Office often got nervous when they saw him pressing the button as they thought it was for nuclear bombs.
It is not yet known if Mr Trump will have the button used for Diet Coke again during his second presidency, however, the first-ever Presidential Commemorative Inaugural Diet Coke bottle could be a sign.
“I thought MAGA said RFK JR was going to clean up America’s diets?” one person wrote on X reacting to the gift.
“This is probably more special to him than the birth of his first child,” wrote another.
