US President Donald Trump has shared his definition of a woman while speaking in the Oval Office, saying the explanation is ‘easy to answer for me’.

The president was asked to define what a woman is after a journalist claimed the Democrats struggled to provide an explanation.

“Well, it’s sort of easy to answer for me,” Mr Trump said, laughing.

“A woman is someone who can have a baby under certain circumstances

“A woman is a person who is much smarter than a man, I’ve always found. A woman is a person who doesn’t give a man even a chance of success.”

Mr Trump changed his jovial tone in his response, saying women, to him, are people who have been treated badly.

“A woman is a person who, in many cases, has been treated very badly,” Mr Trump said.

“I think that what happens with this crazy issue of men being able to play in women’s sport is ridiculous.

“Very unfair to women and very demeaning to women.”

Mr Trump shared his love for women, promising to take care of them.

“Women are basically incredible people, they do so much for our country,” Mr Trump said.

“We love our women and we are going to take care of our women.”

In the now viral clip, Mr Trump lumps criticism on the Democrats, who he says are fighting to keep men in women’s sport.

The comments come during Women’s History Month in the US, which has included Mr Trump saying on Thursday that he is happy to be known as the “fertilisation president” for his efforts on expanding in virtro fertilisation (IVF).
