Mr Trump said “nobody” wanted the restrictions on water pressure.
He said his Administration will try and have the change memorialised by Congress to stop future presidents revoking his executive order.
The change will impact showers, sinks, dishwashers and toilets.
Mr Trump said he also hoped his executive order allowing the use of plastic straws would also be made permanent.
The US President said when American’s see a new faucet, they know “It’s going to be a long wash of the hands”.
“We’re changing it.”
Mr Trump then signed the order reversing water appliance regulations, asking reports “is that okay?”.
One responded: “It’s going to be a good shower”.
