US President Donald Trump has shared a bizarre AI-generated video that shows what war-torn Gaza could potentially look like as a future tourist destination.

The 33-second video, posted to his Instagram account, starts with some images of present-day Gaza before it moves into some imagery that draws heavily from Middle Eastern holiday destinations such as Abu Dhabi.

And if the images of Gaza with a Burj Al Arab-style tower aren’t strange enough to begin with, the imagery quickly descends into the utterly ridiculous.

A beaming Elon Musk features heavily in the video, first while eating what appears to be crusty bread on a beach — and then by throwing cash in the air in front of a group of people who are cheering and applauding.

As for Mr Trump, the first time we see him is when a child is carrying a gold balloon in the shape of his head while walking down the street.

One cut scene shows Mr Trump dancing with a belly dancer inside a club, before the vision cuts to the front of a hotel emblazoned with the words “Trump Gaza”.

Another shot pans out to capture a huge golden statue of the US President.

The final scene shows a topless Mr Trump and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu sipping cocktails on a deckchair by a pool.

The clip is set to an audio track that includes the words “No more tunnels, no more fears, Trump Gaza is number one”.

Mr Trump’s Instagram fans were quick to deride the video, with one calling it a “horrible post”.

“Highly offensive and insensitive to the suffering people,” said another.

“You can’t tell me we don’t live in a South Park episode,” said yet another.
