Erika Kirk has stunned audiences with a deeply personal admission about the private hope she clung to in the aftermath of her husband Charlie Kirk’s assassination, a moment she recounted in an emotional interview with Megyn Kelly.

Charlie Kirk, a major figure in conservative politics, was gunned down on September 10 while appearing at Utah Valley University. He was 31.

President Donald Trump confirmed his death in a striking Truth Social post, calling him “The Great, and even Legendary, Charlie Kirk,” adding that “he was loved and admired by ALL, especially me, and now, he is no longer with us.”

Kirk, 31, founder of Turning Point USA, had been speaking from his trademark “Prove Me Wrong” table during the opening stop of his American Comeback Tour when a single shot tore through the university crowd. Footage from the event appeared to show him being struck in the head or neck under a white pop-up tent.

After an overnight search, authorities apprehended 22-year-old Tyler Robinson on September 11.

He now faces a slate of charges, including aggravated murder, and Utah County Attorney Jeff Gray has confirmed prosecutors will pursue the death penalty. Erika was granted a protective order soon after, blocking Robinson from contacting her.

Speaking to Kelly on SiriusXM, Erika, a mother of two, revealed the private prayer she made in the chaos following her husband’s killing.

She said they had always envisioned a large family.

“We wanted to have four,” she told Kelly.

“And I was praying to God that I was pregnant when he got murdered. I was like, ‘Oh goodness, that would be the ultimate blessing out of this catastrophe.’”

The couple share a three-year-old daughter and a one-year-old son.

Erika said her experience had reshaped the message she now shares with young women.

“Now, when I see young couples, I tell them, ‘Please, like don’t put it off,’ especially if you’re a young woman, don’t put it off,” she said.

“You can always have a career. You can always go back to work. You can never just go back to having children, and they grow so fast and so quickly.”

The pair had been excited to expand their family, she said.

“I was praying, both of us were, we were really excited to just expand our family,” she added.
