A TikTok video mocking Pam Bondi’s thyroid cancer has sparked outrage and apparent employment fallout after going viral online.
A TikTok video wishing cancer on former US attorney-general Pam Bondi has triggered backlash, internet scrutiny and apparent employment fallout after a Massachusetts credit union confirmed an employee behind “offensive comments” was no longer with the company.
The controversy erupted after a user operating under the now-private account @glitterandcrossbones posted a video appearing to mock Ms Bondi’s recent thyroid cancer diagnosis while offering what she described as a prayer to “MAGA Lord Jesus”.
In the clip, the woman said, “Please let Pam Bondi’s throat cancer be the worst case of cancer anybody’s ever seen.”

The video quickly spread across social media, sparking outrage and prompting online users to attempt to identify the creator.
Screenshots circulating online appeared to link the account to a woman believed to have worked as an assistant vice president at Jeanne D’Arc Credit Union in Massachusetts.
Social media users pointed to a purported Facebook profile and a now-deleted LinkedIn page as evidence, although The Nightly has not independently verified the identification.
By Friday, Jeanne D’Arc Credit Union publicly addressed the controversy without naming the employee.
“Yesterday, we became aware of offensive comments posted on TikTok by an individual who was employed by Jeanne D’Arc Credit Union at the time of the post,” the organisation wrote on social media.
“This conduct is inconsistent with Jeanne D’Arc’s policies, Code of Ethics, and core values.”
The company added that while it does not comment on personnel matters, “the individual is no longer employed by Jeanne D’Arc.”
The incident has reignited debate over whether personal social media activity should carry professional consequences, particularly when posts involve political figures or comments about serious illness.
Ms Bondi, 60, recently revealed she had been diagnosed with thyroid cancer and underwent surgery several weeks ago. She has since said she is recovering and “doing well” following treatment.
The diagnosis emerged shortly after her departure from the Justice Department and amid news she had joined a White House advisory panel focused on artificial intelligence policy.
A longtime Trump ally and former Florida attorney-general, Ms Bondi has remained a polarising political figure, drawing both strong support and fierce criticism during and after her tenure in Washington.
